Fractal 5V Boostybaby Voltage Booster

Significantly increase your flight duration and enhance video stability in 1S Li-ion setups with this 5V voltage booster. A common issue in digital or extended-range 1S builds is maintaining sufficient power to the video transmitter throughout the battery’s discharge cycle. Li-po batteries typically discharge down to 3.5 or 3.3V, nearing the HDZero Whoop Lite VTX’s limit, which can brownout below 2.8V and requires a power cycle to restart. Li-ion batteries, discharging as low as 2.5V and experiencing greater voltage sag under load, risk video shutdown during aggressive maneuvers past mid-capacity.

I’ve tested the Boostybaby at 9W (1.8A @ 5V output) and it handled the load fine down to 2.8V

I will perform further testing once I get my hands on a unit to confim it, but as it stands the Boostybaby should be totally suitable on lipo, and get you mostly there on li-ion.

I’ve also completed design of a new booster capable of handling such massive load down to actual li-ion discharge level, stay tuned for more.
